Time passes and we are now closing in on our first runners over jumps since the lockdown; we will have some entries at Uttoxeter next week and at Perth on the 21st July. It will be odd to return to the routine of entries and declarations; with the help of our form man Paul McIvor we constantly review those who are ready to run, with Paul producing a list of possible targets for each horse. Of course, all runners are subject to ground, but it is refreshing to be getting closer to normal for the yard.
There has been lots of schooling and galloping going on at home, pictured is Caboy with young Connor. Caboy is one of our horses for free lease and he should be ready to run next month. He had some nice form in his native France over both hurdles and fences and is loving being in training, pulling out each morning with a spring in his step. More details on the FOR SALE page.
The store sales in Ireland next week at Tattersalls have been postponed due to travel restrictions still being in place. Tattersalls hope to reschedule the catalogue in August. This means that the next National Hunt sale is now at Goffs in Doncaster on 28th and 29th July; a mix of store horses and those in training and another outing on the horizon.
We have been delighted to welcome owners back to the yard, in very small groups and with the usual Covid restrictions. Social distancing is fairly easy on the gallops and we have had some lovely mornings recently showing the horses and the new yard updates.
Tomorrow is a sad day as Jordan leaves us after seven years; Jordan has been a mainstay at Kilduff and has seen the yard grow and change while she has been there. She leaves Kilduff in a good place and safe hands and we wish her all the very best in her future with the police force.
We welcome back to the yards Siobhan who worked here from 2006 to 2016 until training to be a vet nurse. Siobhan will help on the ground and with the head lads, and brings a wealth of experience and sense.
