We had some excellent runs at Musselburgh where the ground ended up holding and soft, and there were some pretty wintery conditions during racing.
Lucky Flight confirmed that he is a bright prospect when second in his first handicap, and just third time over hurdles, jumping swiftly and despite the worsening conditions he battled well in front until passed. He should progress from this run and we have some nice spring targets for him.
We were delighted with Bollingerandkrug's bumper debut where he was third, coming out of the pack to chase down the subsequent winner and just running green in the final furlong. This son of Getaway looks to have a bright future.
Destiny Is All showed ability in the novice handicap chase; his jumping for a debutante chaser was sound and for the first time he stayed on in the final few furlongs to see out his race. Chasing is definitely his game and he is another who will be better on good ground.
Dr Hooves was fourth in the three mile chase; a solid effort on ground that he finds hard work, while Shanroe Street made a shuddering blunder unseating Derek; his day will come.
Unfortunately, A Ladies Milan hated the going and while he tried to chase the leaders for two miles his effort could not be sustained and he was wisely pulled up when his chance had gone. Summer jumping should be more his thing.
