A new season and the wins and prizemoney are back to zero. We have a high bar to aim for this season.
The start of May is always an exciting time for us as we start the summer season of Perth, Hexham, Cartmel and Market Rasen. With most of the winter horses turned out we can concentrate on those remaining in training along with other issues.
Ronnie and Will have been fencing off some individual paddocks at Kilduff and these will be ideal for safe turnout for those in and out of training. We have already turned out some of the winter horses although they still come in at night while it can get chilly.
Next week we start some pretty decent groundworks at Arlary to landscape the area behind the stables and to provide more turnout rings. More details as they happen.
We welcomed Boy's On Tour to the yard this morning, he is pictured and is for sale. He looks in great nick and will stay in training for a summer campaign.
Derek is in Ireland and this morning he rode fifteen horses who are for sale. We have selected three who are of interest and can be bought privately, more details from the office.
Finally, tomorrow is Grant's last day with us as he moves a few miles up the road to Nick Alexanders. Grant has been here for nearly nine years and has developed in to an educated jockey with lots of experience, and we wish him plenty of luck in his new job. It is not really a goodbye as he will continue to ride out for us occasionally through the summer.
